RTG AROWANARed tail golden (RTG) arowana or Scleropages Aureus is also found in Indonesia. The exact location is in Pekan Baru of Northern Sumatra Island. Most RTG will have its golden color reaching the fourth or fifth rows of the scales and it seldom attain 24k gold color. Although the scales are golden, the anal and caudal fins are reddish brown. There are two premium grades of this species named as high back and super high back. Cross back golden is considered as full gold, the meaning of high back can be said as half gold and super high back is in between.

SUPER RED AROWANA

This type of arwana was already has a red color on the fins, tail, paddle and grouse since childhood and later that would be also appear on the cheeks and gill edge. Ring will start to look after reaching 25 cm of size, but that wouldn't be a red color. The red color on the body will start to come out when the fish was about 3 or 4 years old. But the hobbies often use tricks to help accelerate the development of color, such as tanning, good feeding for the development of color, or by placing the fish in the pond that is exposed to direct sunlight.

RED TAIL AROWANA

Red arowana or Scleropages Legendrei is another popular variety which is originated from Kapuas River and Sentarum Lake in West Kalimantan Province. The red arowana is now being widely bred and sold in many parts of the world. Four basic color variants are blood red, chili red, golden red and orange red. When growing to mature, the opercula, lateral scales and fin membranes of the arowana turn to metallic red. The redder the parts show, the more mature the fish is. All the four color variants of red arowana have been grouped and named as super red or grade 1 red. However, when looking at the real color, only blood red and chili red can really be named as super red. The orange red and golden red normally do not have the quality characteristics of a true super red.

CHILI RED AROWANA

Chili Red Arowana on the other hand has a very large orange eye almost touching the head scull and an obvious diamond shape tail red in color. Young Chili Red Arowana has bluish metallic base color and after the age 5-9 months and above the metallic red ring color can be seen very conspicuously. At the age 1-2 years the red metallic ring around the scale and the base color will be fully develop. The top part is dark green in color.

ASIAN RED AROWANA

Asian Red Arowana is found in Kalimantan and Sumatra of Indonesia. 1st grade red can have different intensity of color ranging from yellow to orange to red to blood-red and chilli-red. The higher intensity red is more desirable and often demand very high price. It is often difficult to differentiate 1st grade red from 2nd grade red when the fish is young.

Blood red Arowana 

Blood red Arowana develop its metallic red ring color around the scale very early 4-9 months age similar to the Malaysian Golden Cross Back Arowana. Blood Red Arowana has dark metallic blue base color at the top part of the scale and metallic green to yellow base at the bottom part of the scale. The infant eye is smaller and the tail is rounded similar to the Malaysian Golden Arowana. The fin is blood red color. The body shapes also the same as the Malaysian Golden Arowana.

Orange Red Arowana 

Orange Red Arowana is the most affordable to purchase the ring metallic color is orange and the metallic base color is orange yellow or light green. The tail is rounded less red and usually develops its full color after 1-3 years of age.

SILVER AROWANA

Silver Arowanas need the best of water conditions to ensure the best coloration and finnage. These are not beginner's fish! Ammonia and nitrites must be kept at zero, and the water must be clean and clear. The tank should also be Large and any tank smaller than a 55 gallon will stunt their growth, at full size an adult silver arowana should have a tank of 300 gallons. 
Be sure to provide a variety of foods, as this is essential for the arowanas diet; arowanas are usually fed live fish such as guppies or goldfish, if at all possible grow the fish up on arowana sticks. To supplement instead of live fish you can try beef heart which has the nutrients but lacks the diseases which are so rife in feeders. A nutritious, complete diet will enhance their colors and ensure good health; you should also note that they will eat almost any fish they can fit in their mouth! In the wild this fish survives by jumping for its food which includes insects and small birds, as a result of this you’re at all times and even weighted down if possible.
